INTP strengths get sold as raw IQ, which is lazy. The working strength is that you hold many distinctions at once and you won't collapse them because a meeting is bored. That's how good theory, good code, good diagnosis, and good jokes get made. It's also why the kitchen can look like a thought experiment. The mind isn't the problem. The missing constraint is.
Precision is a form of respect. You won't sign a sentence that is almost true. In science, engineering, editing, and any craft where 'almost' hurts people, that's gold. In a friendship it can feel like a veto on every warm exaggeration. A kitchen dialect is allowed: 'yes, and I know what you mean.' That's a register switch, not a lie.
Curiosity without a boss is the Perceiving gift. You follow the odd thread that becomes the paper, the product, the hobby that saves a decade. Guard time for that. Also notice when curiosity is a way not to feel the thing under the thing: loneliness, a decision, a body. A walk is a valid experiment.
You can live with uncertainty longer than most, which makes you good in early research and bad in lines you could have packed for. Borrow a little Judging from a list, a partner, or a calendar app you don't have to believe in. A list or a calendar is just a stake so the work doesn't fall over.
Humor here is often a diagnostic. You find the absurd joint in a system and lean on it. People laugh and, if you're careful, they also see. If you aren't careful, they feel like the joint. Aim at the system. Let the person stay on your side of the joke.
Grow the strengths by teaching them. A structure other people can climb is more INTP, not less. Write the notes. Explain the joke. Let a student break your model. That's contact with the world, which is what the inner lab was for.
Lattice at full strength can live with uncertainty and still hand you a tool. Doubt as a blanket is a lesser version. Risk a sincere sentence that isn't a hedge. Precision, play, and a ship date are the whole gift. Without the date you have a beautiful stall. With only the date and no play you have someone else's job. Keep both.

- Why do INTPs live in their heads?
- The inner lab is where the work happens. It becomes a problem when the kitchen never gets staffed. A timer, a repeated meal, and one ship date are constraints, not betrayals.

- What work fits an INTP?
- A real problem, time to orbit it, and a pipeline to an artifact: research, software, analysis, technical writing, game systems, specialist tools. Avoid jobs that are mostly performed enthusiasm.
- Is an INTP introverted, or just anxious?
- They can be either, or both. Introversion is a battery. Anxiety is a fear of evaluation. A short quiz can't separate them. If rooms hurt afterward, look at the room and at care, not only at the letters.
