INTP in love and compatibility

INTP love is a shared problem space with occasional pizza. You want a companion who doesn't need you to perform a warmer species, who will play in the ideas, and who will tap the board and say dinner. You offer honesty, loyalty without drama, a mind that is a place to go. You forget the mundane proof. Set two recurring proofs: a meal, a message. Call it a protocol if you like: a meal and a message, so they don't have to reverse-engineer whether they matter.
Early on you may test whether they can stand a correction. Some can. Some experience it as a sport they didn't join. Ask what kind of truth-telling they like. Offer the same about yourself. You're allowed to want someone who will say 'stop lecturing' without leaving the country.
In conflict you go to analysis, or you go to space. Neither feels like love to a person who needed a hand. Try one feeling-word and one next step. You can still be precise. 'I'm overwhelmed and I'll talk at eight' is more INTP, not less.
With Judging partners, negotiate the close: which loops are sacred (money, health) and which may stay open. With feelers, don't treat their mood as bad data. It's data about the house. With other Perceivers, hire a calendar or you'll both be brilliant and uninsured.
You don't owe a relationship a lecture every night. You do owe it a body in a chair sometimes, with the phone face down. The question can wait an hour. It always thinks it can't.
As a friend, send the true thing even if it isn't clever. As a partner, keep two recurring proofs so they don't have to guess. As a parent, they'll ask the same question twice. Answer twice. The inner sport can stay. The kitchen still needs a staff, and sometimes the staff is you, with a timer, slightly annoyed, and present.

- Why do INTPs live in their heads?
- The inner lab is where the work happens. It becomes a problem when the kitchen never gets staffed. A timer, a repeated meal, and one ship date are constraints, not betrayals.
- How do I tell INTP from INTJ?
- INTJ closes the drawing (Judging). INTP keeps branches (Perceiving). If dinner lost to the question, look at Lattice. If dinner was already in the plan, look at Blueprint.
- What work fits an INTP?
- A real problem, time to orbit it, and a pipeline to an artifact: research, software, analysis, technical writing, game systems, specialist tools. Avoid jobs that are mostly performed enthusiasm.
- Is an INTP introverted, or just anxious?
- They can be either, or both. Introversion is a battery. Anxiety is a fear of evaluation. A short quiz can't separate them. If rooms hurt afterward, look at the room and at care, not only at the letters.
