Privacy policy

Typewell is a personality-test site with an encyclopedia attached. This page is the privacy policy for that site. It isn't legal advice. Last updated 1 September 2026.

If you use the site without an account, we store a test attempt when you submit answers. That's so we can show a result and a share page. The attempt can be stored with no name on it. Answers you haven't submitted yet may also sit in local storage on your device until you finish or clear them.

If you create an account, we store an email address and a password hash. The auth service handles the hash. We don't keep the raw password. We also store a role (user or admin). If you pay, we store billing identifiers from Square: a customer id, a subscription id, and payment ids. We store completed attempts, your answers, and the result payload so you can look back at them.

We use an httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use that cookie to sell ads. A theme preference may be stored in local storage on your device.

Square processes cards. Typewell never stores raw card numbers. We keep Square's identifiers and a payment log (amount, product, status). That's so we can show you what you bought, and so admins can see revenue.

We don't sell personality data. We don't run this as a medical service, and it isn't covered by HIPAA. We don't turn your results into a public ranking of types. A share page is public only if you turn the share flag on.

You can delete your account from the account page, or ask us to delete it. Attempts tied to that account can be detached or removed. Guest attempts that were never attached to an account may be deleted on a schedule.

For questions, use the email on your account, or the site operator's contact if one is published. The tests are for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not a clinical diagnosis.
