Work
Lyric needs a why, a door, and a closer — sometimes you, sometimes a colleague. Autonomy beats surveillance. Meaning beats prestige. Put the unglamorous adult tasks on a list with music on, not in a shame spiral after midnight.
Blind spots
- The draft that never leaves. Open loops can feel like integrity and look like unreliability. Pick a window to ship. You can revise after the world has a copy.
- Values as a place to hide. If every practical task is 'not the real work,' the real work never gets a table. Wash the cup. Then write. The order matters more than it should.
- Quiet tests nobody agreed to. Hoping they'll prove they understand, without a clue, is how you collect disappointments. Ask. It's allowed to be awkward.
Conflict
Write it if your voice shakes. Put the value and the request in the same note. When you need time, put a clock on it. When something is off, say so before you disappear into a better playlist. People can't respond to a song they can't hear.
What to try this month
- Ship one draft this week on a date you write down tonight.
- Do one concrete adult task before you open the inner project.
- Ask for what you want in one sentence that includes a time.
- Let a good-enough evening be good enough, with no secret scoring.
- Tell a trusted person a value without turning it into a test of whether they're real.
A quick type note
A four-letter guess. The pair link is the real one.
