INFJ vs ISTJ
Updated September 1, 2026
INFJ (Counsel) and ISTJ (Ledger) share some furniture and not others. Read both encyclopedia pages rather than forcing a winner. You catch the thing nobody said out loud, then spend the rest of the evening deciding whether to mention it. You keep the record that remembers birthdays, warranties, and the thing everyone else swore they wouldn't forget.
People look up INFJ because the letters might explain why they leave a conversation still thinking about it, why a job has to feel like it matters, and why they're quick with other people's problems and slow with their own. The letters are introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. Typewell calls this Counsel. Introverted means a busy room wears you out and a quiet one puts you back. It does not mean you hate people. Intuitive means you jump to what something implies, often before you can point at the fact. Feeling means the decision has to sit okay with people, not only with the spreadsheet. Judging means you want it finished: the note sent, the next step dated. This is a sketch of habits. It is not the official MBTI test and it is not a diagnosis.
Ledger is Typewell's name for ISTJ. The letters are Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging. Introverted: you refill alone. A party is a bill you sometimes gladly pay. Sensing: you trust the detail you can check — the receipt, the precedent, the way the hinge actually sits. Thinking: a fair rule applied to everyone, including you. Judging: the loop closes. Together that's the person who still has the warranty in a folder. Other people call it uptight. You call it a weekday that isn't on fire. This page isn't a joke about being boring, and it isn't a medal for being the only adult in every room. It isn't the official MBTI® and it isn't a diagnosis.

For thinking about yourself. Not a diagnosis. Not the official MBTI test.
