Enneagram-style test
Twenty-seven questions, three for each type. You get a type from 1 to 9, a hint at the neighboring wing, and the fear and desire people usually attach to that type.
What you’ll learn
- Which of the nine motives your answers lean toward
- Whether a neighboring type is close enough to matter
- The fear and the want people usually pair with that type
How scoring works
Each type has three items. We add the scores. The range is 3 to 15.
The highest total is your type. The higher of the two neighbors is the wing. For type 9, the neighbors are 8 and 1.
A tie goes to the lower number. If two scores are close, read both pages.
The Enneagram has a lot of schools and no single official test. This is our short version, not a typing interview with a teacher.
Questions
- Is this as good as sitting with an Enneagram teacher?
- No. A short quiz guesses from what you say about yourself. A decent teacher watches you over time. Use this as a first guess.
- What is a wing?
- The neighboring type that shows up next to yours. A 4 with a 5 wing and a 4 with a 3 wing don't read the same. We only report the higher neighbor, not a full tritype.
- Can the type change?
- A lot of people who use the Enneagram say the core stays put and stress changes the behavior. If two types both feel true, read both.
